Program Details
We have specifically designed our policies to provide you and your dog the protection you both deserve.
MasterCare policies provide comprehensive accident and illness coverage for your dog.
You should know ...
You can enrol your dog as early as 8 weeks of age
MasterCare accident coverage can begin at 8 weeks. Enrollment
in MasterCare is possible up to 8 years of age (6 years of age for "Select"
breed dogs). Provided your dog is enrolled before 8 years of age (6 years of
age for "Select" breed dogs) coverage continues for the rest of his
or her life.
Your accident coverage begins immediately
For MasterCare policies, accident coverage begins
at 12:01 AM the morning after your enrollment application is approved.
MasterCare illness coverage will begin 21 days following enrollment.
You may be eligible for an immediate discount
If you are insuring three or more pets, or if your pet is registered as a īMedical Serviceī pet, you will receive a 10% discount on each premium. If your pet is an owner trained Medical Service Pet, to receive your 10% discount, you are required to provide a letter from your doctor indicating that you are disabled and require a medical service pet. Only one discount is applicable per pet and policy.
Discount and Exclusive Coverage for 24PetWatch and Other Registered Microchipped Pets
Give your pet the added protection of registering with the 24PetWatch Microchip Identification system. We'll then give you a 5% discount on any of our pet
insurance programs. (Limit 1 discount per policy). You'll also qualify for optional
EmergencyCare protection designed specifically for 24PetWatch pets who become
injured or sick while lost. At just $19.95 per YEAR it is the perfect companion
policy to your pet's microchip.
There is a small "Select" breed surcharge
Some breeds are more susceptible to certain
illnesses, therefore MasterCare premiums are slightly higher for the following
Select Breeds: American Staffordshire Terriers, Basset Hounds, Basenjis, Boxers, Bulldogs, **Bull Terriers, Dalmatians, Deerhounds, Doberman Pinschers, Dogue de Bordeaux, German Shepherds (including German Shepherds, King), All Greyhounds (including Italian Greyhounds), Great Danes, Irish Wolfhounds, Leonbergers, All Mastiff breeds, All Mountain Terriers/Dogs, Newfoundlands, Old English Sheepdogs, Peruvian Inca Orchid, Pharaoh Hounds, Pit Bull Terriers, Rottweilers, St. Bernards, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Wheaton Terriers.
**Bull Terrier Group includes Pitbulls, American Staffordshire and Staffordshire Bull Terriers

Deductibles
Payable only if an illness or accident claim is made, once per
policy term year"
-$100 for pets under 5
-$150 for pets between 5-10
-$250 for pets 10 and up
Guaranteed Acceptance.
All breeds of dogs are accepted. Once enrolled your pet is guaranteed coverage for the rest of it's life, up to policy limits. Some conditions may apply*. Please see policy terms and conditions for details.
* Chinese Shar-pei and Shar-pei cross-breeds are eligible for accident coverage only.
* If Adult Onset Demodex (After Age Five) has been noted, treated or diagnosed, prior to the inception of your policy, or within the thirty day waiting period for illness coverage, no illness coverage is available under any of our programs. Accident coverage is still available.
Monthly Pay
Plan Fee
In the event that you choose to pay on a monthly basis a $1.50 pay
plan fee will be added to your monthly billing. This fee is waived if you pay on
an annual basis.
MasterCare Accident Coverage
MasterCare policies provide coverage for an unlimited
number of accidents, each covered to the maximum benefit as detailed on the
coverage chart. There are no maximum annual or lifetime accident benefit restrictions.
MasterCare Illness Categories
MasterCare has divided illness coverage into 12 illness
categories to provide maximum flexibility and accessibility each and every year.
There are no maximum annual illness benefit restrictions. The maximum benefit
payable for each illness category is detailed on the coverage chart. The categories
are: cardiovascular & respiratory system, digestive system, urogenital system,
musculoskeletal system, nervous system, eyes, ears, skin, endocrine system,
blood and lymphoid system, infectious diseases, and cancer.
Routine Care Coverage
Routine care (e.g. vaccinations and parasite prevention)
is a budgetable expense and not covered by your policy. Programs are designed
to provide more comprehensive coverage for those things pet owners cannot budget
for. Our approach is to protect you and your four-legged family member from
the high costs of the unexpected and the unforeseen. Routine care is not covered
to ensure you donīt pay your insurance company more than you would pay
your veterinarian directly.
Common sense exclusions to Keep Your Premiums Affordable
We reserve the right to exclude from coverage any pre-existing illnesses, or accidents as well as any illnesses that
occur within your policy's thirty-day waiting period for illness coverage. After we have processed your application, we will
send your Document of Insurance which will indicate any exclusions.
To keep your policy in force, take your veterinarianīs
advice
Have your dog examined annually by your veterinarian
and kept current with the vaccinations recommended. Itīs a good way to
keep your dog healthy and itīs also a condition of your continued coverage.
Policy renewals
Your policy renews monthly, provided your premium payments
are up to date. Your policy can be cancelled by you or by us, with proper notice
as described in your policy Terms and Conditions.
